PYUA not only pays attention to the materials used (free from fluorocarbons and Teflon, as much recycled material as possible), but also to the durability of the products. Of course, functionality must not be neglected either. We have tested how the Collector Jacket and Creek-Y Pant fare here.
First impression
The outfit immediately makes a very robust and weatherproof impression. Durability and weather protection have clearly been prioritised here and a slightly heavier weight has been accepted as a result. The material is rather thick, and some areas, such as the back of the jacket, are also minimally lined with thin fleece. This is not so much a lining as a laminated, roughened material on the inside. The trousers are cut quite high and can be attached to the jacket for optimum weather protection. The jacket has two large Napoleon pockets, while the trousers have two equally spacious pockets on the front of the thighs.
Otherwise, the outfit naturally has all the necessary equipment and features, such as sleeve cuffs with thumb loops, neat Velcro fasteners for adjusting the waistband and sleeves, ventilation openings, ski pass pocket, waterproof zips, edge protection, taped seams, adjustable hood, and so on...
Testers and test conditions
I am 183cm tall and weigh just under 80kg. I tested both the jacket and trousers in size L. The jacket fits me very well and shouldn't be any bigger, but the trousers were almost a little tight in terms of width, especially at the high-cut waistband. They should definitely not be tighter.
I have been using the outfit for several months and have tested it in a wide range of weather and snow conditions both in the ski area and on ski tours.
