PowderAlert 4 2016/17 | Base for the southern high mountains.
Lars Oelmann • 11/20/2016It's snowing in the Southern Alps! Massive traffic jam, the competition reports #EightMeterSnow and the oracle is silent? No, not really, I just wanted to wait and see if it really will be as warm as expected. If Ullr causes the snow line to rise above the tree line, it makes no sense to go skiing during the precipitation. -

PowderAlert 3 2016/17 | South jam kick-off
Lars Oelmann • 11/17/2016After Ullr has already brought a nice winter constellation in the north and west, it's now the south's turn. There's also enough for alerts in the west, but they'll be rather short-lived. This alert is valid until Sunday morning before new precipitation sets in again on Sunday evening. -

PowderAlert 2 2016/17 | Ullr for president
Lars Oelmann • 11/08/2016Unlike Trump as president, Ullr is a god of facts and feel-good, so I'm afraid I'll have to pass on the #EightMeterSnow clickbait hashtag. But at least there's now a widely drivable alarm. So wax your skis, study the ski tour maps or hope for ski resorts to open earlier. It has already started to snow, but the fun only lasts until the weekend and unfortunately not until 2020 ;) -

PowderAlert 1 2016/17 | Time to dust up
Lars Oelmann • 11/04/2016Hype! #EightMeterSnow! Um...or maybe not. At least it's starting to snow. If you only read the first line of the teaser: Sorry Internet 3.0. No, not eight meters of snow, just the first sign of winter coming our way. -

Movie review| TGR- Tight Loose
Lars Oelmann • 10/20/201621 years of TGR. 21 years of pushing boundaries in skiing and, apparently, alcohol consumption. Because if there is one thing that runs like a red thread through Tight Loose, it is the thought of the 21st birthday, which is of course a memorable event for Americans who like to drink. In Tight Loose, the occasion is repeatedly used to embed anecdotes from the past into the current film. -

PowderAlert 18 2015/16 | Imagine it's winter and nobody goes there!
Lars Oelmann • 04/21/2016Ullr doesn't let himself get carried away and unpacks high winter weather conditions after most ski resorts close. With the exception of Ullr's disciples, people everywhere are complaining about it. -

PowderAlert 17 2015/16 | A last hurrah?
Lars Oelmann • 04/15/2016It's mid-April and winter is slowly saying goodbye. The snow line creeps southwards into the high Alps and we study the weather maps hopefully to see if powder is on the way. The disciples of Ullr can actually saddle up their poles once again and go hunting. -

PowderAlert 16 - Warm shower
Lars Oelmann • 03/30/2016Is it perhaps the last alarm? It's snowing, but only in the high mountains. The last few weeks have seen a few flakes here and there, but not large amounts all at once. At least the March temperatures have remained bearable in contrast to the last few years. But spring is here, even here in Alaska, where one temperature record after another is being broken and we are now going on spring tours for the last few days. -

PowderAlert 15 - The second act
Lars Oelmann • 03/03/2016The play continues and artistic director Ullr wants to extend the season of the extremely successful play "Märzwinter". The little man from the street, who is always asked about this in TV interviews, doesn't think it's so great, but we're looking forward to a little compensation for the miserable start to the powder season. -
PowderAlerts
PowderAlert 14 - The first act
Lars Oelmann • 03/01/2016As in a theater play, the coming snowfall is divided into several acts that actually belong together, as there are only minimal breaks between the precipitation. -
PowderAlerts
PowderAlert 13 - Südstau
Lars Oelmann • 02/26/2016Most people have already seen it: The maps are getting more colorful, the crowds more massive, the ski internet is going crazy. It's southern traffic jam time. -
PowderAlerts
PowderAlert 12 - The high mountain alert
Lars Oelmann • 02/19/2016The good news first: there's enough for an alert until Sunday. But it will be very warm after the snowfall and the limit will also rise during the snowfall, so you'll have to get up high on Sunday if you want to find powder in the northern Alps.
