Ullr has an understanding in mid-January and ends the early winter. At least in northern Switzerland and western Austria. Unfortunately, this doesn't apply to France and western Switzerland, where it snows for the first time since the beginning of November and you only reach the meadow riding phase for the time being. In the far east, there is more snow on the base so that freeriding can continue there.

While I was sitting on the plane, Ullr thought to himself: "Oh, skiing with a base like this is nicer, I'll send a load right after. And to make sure I surprise everyone, I'll put more pressure on the models.

At last. The time has come: there is a real northerly accumulation in - almost - the entire Northern Alps. For many areas from central Switzerland to Tyrol, this means that the first real snowfall of the season will come on January 5th. Oh well! This also means: don't forget to switch to early season mode. In terms of snow cover, it feels more like early/mid-November here. Further east, there is already a certain base and Ullr serves you powder again. You can actually go freeriding "properly".

When Ullr orders a Melange and a snowfall for five euros for the bus driver at the tobacconist, you know that it will only snow in the east of Austria.

Christmas 2027: The avalanche warning services have to surprisingly end summer mode because it actually snows in December! Well, it's not quite that far yet, but after the third bad early winter, we are surprised that something actually happens again before January.

It's snowing in the Southern Alps! Massive traffic jam, the competition reports #EightMeterSnow and the oracle is silent? No, not really, I just wanted to wait and see if it really will be as warm as expected. If Ullr causes the snow line to rise above the tree line, it makes no sense to go skiing during the precipitation.

After Ullr has already brought a nice winter constellation in the north and west, it's now the south's turn. There's also enough for alerts in the west, but they'll be rather short-lived. This alert is valid until Sunday morning before new precipitation sets in again on Sunday evening.

Unlike Trump as president, Ullr is a god of facts and feel-good, so I'm afraid I'll have to pass on the #EightMeterSnow clickbait hashtag. But at least there's now a widely drivable alarm. So wax your skis, study the ski tour maps or hope for ski resorts to open earlier. It has already started to snow, but the fun only lasts until the weekend and unfortunately not until 2020 ;)

21 years of TGR. 21 years of pushing boundaries in skiing and, apparently, alcohol consumption. Because if there is one thing that runs like a red thread through Tight Loose, it is the thought of the 21st birthday, which is of course a memorable event for Americans who like to drink. In Tight Loose, the occasion is repeatedly used to embed anecdotes from the past into the current film.

Ullr doesn't let himself get carried away and unpacks high winter weather conditions after most ski resorts close. With the exception of Ullr's disciples, people everywhere are complaining about it.

It's mid-April and winter is slowly saying goodbye. The snow line creeps southwards into the high Alps and we study the weather maps hopefully to see if powder is on the way. The disciples of Ullr can actually saddle up their poles once again and go hunting.
