WeatherBlog 10 2021/22 | Sun as far as the eye can see
01/12/2022 • Lea Hartl
The high pressure weather continues to accompany us. It will remain very sunny up to and including the weekend. Temperatures will rise and it will be a lot milder again, especially at higher altitudes. High fog will hang in many valleys and it will be much colder than in the mountains thanks to inversions. Weather change with a chance of fresh snow next week. -

World of Science | New perspectives on the reduction method and co
01/06/2022 • Lea Hartl
A recent SLF study uses GPS tracks from the Skitourenguru.ch database to correlate avalanche accidents with the number of accident-free ascents. This makes it possible to calculate which danger levels and terrain characteristics are particularly risky. There are some interesting differences to the reduction factors known from the Munter reduction method. -

WeatherBlog 9 2021/22 | Here's to a new year
01/05/2022 • Lea Hartl
2022 began as 2021 ended, namely too warm. Who would have thought? The extremely warm phase, which brought us various new New Year's Eve temperature records, is now history with today's cold front. Until the weekend, the outlook is also quite good for the time of year. Next week everything is still uncertain, with a "mixed" trend and a west-east divide. -

WeatherBlog 8 2021/22 | Waiting for the rain
12/29/2021 • Lea Hartl
We don't have much to add to the oracle and his current rain alarm today. The weather in the Alpine region is not particularly pleasant, although the temperatures are certainly spectacular. From Thursday afternoon it will be less wet, but even warmer. The weather is expected to cool down at the beginning of next week. -

WeatherBlog 7 2021/22 | Christmas weather in the west
12/22/2021 • Lea Hartl
The high pressure will stay with us until tomorrow, but then the general weather situation will change to much more zonal, mild westerly weather. This means more snow, at least for the higher elevations, albeit at relatively high temperatures. -

WeatherBlog 6 2021/22 | Sun, sun, sun, fog
12/15/2021 • Lea Hartl
As was already foreseeable last week, a powerful area of high pressure is currently building up over Central Europe. The high pressure will accompany us until further notice and unfortunately there is no snow in sight. The high pressure is blocking the current over the Atlantic and deflecting the frontal zone to the north, so that it is a long way off for us and does not affect our weather in a wintry way. -

WeatherBlog 5 2021/22 | Is the desert heat coming after the bomb cyclone?
12/08/2021 • Lea Hartl
The WeatherBlog also wanted to try a clickbait headline. Did it work? We'll give you the answer right away: maybe. The current week is still relatively winter-friendly, but things will become more uncertain from the weekend onwards. A significant and rather longer-lasting moderation is likely, but the exact timing is still uncertain. -

Gear Review | Mons Royale Stratos Shift Bra

The Stratos Shift Bra is a more or less classic racerback sports bra with "medium support". Thanks to the merino synthetic fibre material blend, the bra is more elastic than pure merino and dries relatively quickly. -

There will be a brief spell of sunshine today (Wednesday), followed by more snow on the northern slopes of the Alps. The weekend is also expected to be very wintry with snow down to low altitudes.
