WeatherBlog 9 2021/22 | Here's to a new year
Lea Hartl • 01/05/20222022 began as 2021 ended, namely too warm. Who would have thought? The extremely warm phase, which brought us various new New Year's Eve temperature records, is now history with today's cold front. Until the weekend, the outlook is also quite good for the time of year. Next week everything is still uncertain, with a "mixed" trend and a west-east divide. -

WeatherBlog 8 2021/22 | Waiting for the rain
Lea Hartl • 12/29/2021We don't have much to add to the oracle and his current rain alarm today. The weather in the Alpine region is not particularly pleasant, although the temperatures are certainly spectacular. From Thursday afternoon it will be less wet, but even warmer. The weather is expected to cool down at the beginning of next week. -

WeatherBlog 7 2021/22 | Christmas weather in the west
Lea Hartl • 12/22/2021The high pressure will stay with us until tomorrow, but then the general weather situation will change to much more zonal, mild westerly weather. This means more snow, at least for the higher elevations, albeit at relatively high temperatures. -

WeatherBlog 6 2021/22 | Sun, sun, sun, fog
Lea Hartl • 12/15/2021As was already foreseeable last week, a powerful area of high pressure is currently building up over Central Europe. The high pressure will accompany us until further notice and unfortunately there is no snow in sight. The high pressure is blocking the current over the Atlantic and deflecting the frontal zone to the north, so that it is a long way off for us and does not affect our weather in a wintry way. -

WeatherBlog 5 2021/22 | Is the desert heat coming after the bomb cyclone?
Lea Hartl • 12/08/2021The WeatherBlog also wanted to try a clickbait headline. Did it work? We'll give you the answer right away: maybe. The current week is still relatively winter-friendly, but things will become more uncertain from the weekend onwards. A significant and rather longer-lasting moderation is likely, but the exact timing is still uncertain. -

Gear Review | Mons Royale Stratos Shift Bra
Lea Hartl • 12/07/2021The Stratos Shift Bra is a more or less classic racerback sports bra with "medium support". Thanks to the merino synthetic fibre material blend, the bra is more elastic than pure merino and dries relatively quickly. -

WeatherBlog 4 2021/22 | Accompanying blog to the alarm
Lea Hartl • 12/01/2021There will be a brief spell of sunshine today (Wednesday), followed by more snow on the northern slopes of the Alps. The weekend is also expected to be very wintry with snow down to low altitudes. -

WeatherBlog 3 2021/22 | Wintery prospects!
Lea Hartl • 11/24/2021Since the beginning of the week, the very mild phase that has kept us busy recently has come to an end. High pressure still prevails in the Alpine region and the weather is autumnal in character, with high fog in many valleys and sunshine for those who make it out of the fog. A change in the weather is on the horizon for the weekend, which should make the whole Alpine region feel much more like winter. -

Snow of Tomorrow | Don't get distracted
Lea Hartl • 11/22/2021Today, we are not so much concerned with the future as with the past when it comes to Snow of Tomorrow. The French oil and gas company Total is the fourth largest player on the market after ExxonMobil, Chevron and Royal Dutch Shell. Total's management was demonstrably aware of the negative effects of burning fossil fuels on the climate over 50 years ago. -

WeatherBlog 2 2021/22 | Swampy weather, chance of changeover next week
Lea Hartl • 11/17/2021There will be little change in the weather until the weekend. High fog will dominate in many valleys and in the Alpine foothills, with sunshine above. Snow is not in sight for the time being. There are options for winter over the course of next week in the crystal ball range, but this cannot be relied on yet. -

WeatherBlog 1 2021/22 | Before winter comes late summer
Lea Hartl • 11/10/2021The WeatherBlog kicks off the season and gets in the mood for the approaching winter in the autumn sunshine. Initially, there will be little change to the established general weather situation. The forecast becomes uncertain at the weekend. A cold front is likely to bring cooling. There are moderate precipitation options for the Alpine region, but they are on shaky ground. -

Gear of the Week | Blister plasters
Lea Hartl • 11/07/2021Last spring, the inner shoes of my ski touring boots started to show signs of disintegration. I get blisters relatively easily and started taping my feet where the chafed inner boots rub so that I don't lose more skin with every tour.
