Mammut offers a firmware upgrade for Barryvox and Barryvox S avalanche transceivers: BarryHeart 3.4. The upgrade can be carried out in service centers or from device to device if the new firmware has already been installed on a device.

The legendary US magazine Powder is being discontinued after almost 50 years - both the print magazine as well as the online magazine and social media channels. The publisher A360 Media is also closing the related action sports magazines Surfer, Bike and the print version of Snowboarder.

A new winter season is in the starting blocks and with it a new batch of ski films and their trailers. Here's an overview for everyone who wants to get into the winter mood! There are no clear trends for us this time. In general, there are slightly fewer trailers than in previous years, as the last season ended abruptly and many smaller film projects were probably not completed as planned. There is standard material from the major production companies.

This year, some things are a little different and in addition to the familiar questions such as "Which ski resorts are already open?", there are new ones, for example: "What about the travel warnings and what does that mean for my ski season?"

How did the stable lateral position work again? What about the 2020/21 PowderGuide season? Will our tent stay waterproof even in heavy rain? These were the central topics of this year's PG core team meeting.

A lack of snow in the early season, repeated rain up to high altitudes in mid-winter and then the coronavirus pandemic overshadowing everything - 2019/20 was not a carefree dream winter. We are all the more pleased about the beautiful, fun, adventurous and exciting days on the mountain that we were able to experience last season. The North American company Black Diamond, which is best known for its wide range of climbing equipment, has also been involved in the ski sector for a number of years and has become an integral part of it. The ConditionsReports (CRs) are a central component of PowderGuide and a great help to many freeriders when planning their next powder trip. Without the effort of all ConditionsReporters who write down their impressions concerning snow quality, snow quantity and snow stability during theirs trips, this would not be possible. At the Arc'teryx Academy in the Giessereihalle in Zurich, you can spend the whole day in the spirit of outdoor and mountain sports.
