The SLF is making key data on accidents from the current season more easily accessible in a new online tool. All avalanche accidents in which one or more people were swept away are displayed on a zoomable map.

After a season of absence, the big photo competition is back on PowderGuide. This time it will take place on Instagram and will once again select the photo of the week and the overall winners.

The Back on Track Feel Freeride Contest is entering the next round and registration will open on Monday, February 11 at 8 pm. For all those who want to take part, it's time to be quick!

We are delighted to be able to offer a place at the training session, the next level camp and the end-of-season chillout again this year together with risk'n'fun. risk'n'fun is the training program of the Alpine Club Youth. In addition to learning technical skills, the freeride camps also focus on "human" topics such as group dynamics and personal risk perception.

In order to describe avalanches - for example in avalanche bulletins, after accidents or for feedback from the terrain - standardized terms should be used for their size. From the 2018/19 season, the official EAWS terminology has been adapted to common usage in order to improve comprehensibility for winter sports enthusiasts.

With the Powder Calendar, there will once again be plenty of powder action within your own four walls all year round in 2019.

Once again this year, we would like to present the PowderGuide community with a few suggestions for (more or less) suitable Christmas gifts for winter sports enthusiasts. The Austrian Alpine Association is once again offering evening lectures to get in the mood for the ski season, where winter sports enthusiasts can update their avalanche knowledge.

The PowderGuide weather service has finished its summer break, so winter must now follow suit! From now on you will find the snow and sunshine forecast maps, weather report and SNOWGRID in the usual place.

The days are getting shorter, the glaciers are opening ice slopes, autumnal cold fronts bring anticipation and chaos in equal measure and we are "officially" back from our summer slumber.

Since October 10, the EOFT has been touring Germany again. As in previous years, we are once again giving away 4x2 tickets for the tour.

Online registration for the free SnowHow Camps opened yesterday. The camps provide avalanche knowledge for beginners and slightly advanced freeriders and ski tourers in a practical day and evening lectures.
