Some are in their infancy, neglected and antiquated, and some are packed with fancy content that our modern society so desperately needs.

Unlike the weather: the video precipitation accumulates on the www. The ski video contributions are currently very considerable. It's easy to fill the issue. We particularly enjoy the female influence and let them take the lead!

Marco Milanese is an alpine mountain guide, a modern adventurer and certainly a local legend in Friuli-Venezia-Giulia. The variety of his mountain activities is astonishing, based upon alpine climbing, reaching towards highlining and base jumping, but also incorporating skitouring, freeriding and speedflying. In this interview we try to find out about Marco and how he manages such a variety of mountain activities, how he deals with risk and what he was doing last winter.

Start of the season! A warm welcome! Obviously: all the well-known characters and collectives are already busy publishing. Lots of recent footage of last winter's snow is ready and we almost feel late! But don't worry, we won't be tactically holding back here. There's still a bit left and in Chamonix anyway, but the search for powder is becoming increasingly difficult and it's clear that it's high time to start thinking about the approaching summer! So, our climbing projects for 2021: Big Island Assis or King Capella? Or maybe wrestling in Senegal? Or a highline on a ski tour? Or do you still have high alpine ambitions? Firn, powder or steep faces? Or roadgaps like Markus? In any case, summer will come and is somehow already here.

I had a very pleasant encounter with conditions reporter Nino, a.k.a. schneerudi, at the final PG meeting. What's more, a few days later he surprised me with an email full of treasures I'd never heard of. Here are the collected highlights. Thank you very much! We're not saying goodbye to the summer break just yet. Perhaps there are more surprises in store for us!

We are delighted to announce our first winner of the "VdW Skier of the Year Award": Elisabeth Gerritzen! We will try to notify, congratulate and gift her immediately! The PG community chose her as the winner in a tough tournament mode in the final against "Our Roland". We also regret having lost sight of Antti Autti, but we will make up for it here.
