A leeward cyclone has formed in the Gulf of Genoa and is showering the Alps with snow from the south. The general weather situation remains strongly zonal and therefore mild and humid. Strong storm lows are moving through northern Europe towards the weekend, with plenty of mild winds and wet precipitation. Their fronts will also determine the weather on the northern side of the Alps. However, there is reason to look forward to the new week!

On the ubiquitous monopolistic video platform, we are often lured into clicking with sensational titles: this strategy is called clickbaiting. It works best with dangerous actions, stupid sayings or happy accidents. This episode therefore promises above all entertaining entertainment, although high-quality films have also worked their way up the algorithm and are shared here.

Since the beginning of skiing and especially freeskiing, airtime has been essential. Speeds, slopes and soft snow simply demand that you give up contact with the snow. So either special kickers are built and jumped, or natural terrain features are used: cliff drop, gap, step-up, transfer - you name it! Of course, this is fun and also scores points in the freeride contests. We hope you enjoy today's airy selection!

You can look back on many things: Mountain tours, vacations and alpine clubs. Today, a few ski companies have imposed themselves on me with their films, and I'm devoting my attention to them. The Freeride World Tour has also started and TGR is working on an accident.

Of course, the Alps are our favorite. But hold on! Other regions of Central Europe also have beautiful mountains, with mostly relaxing and sometimes exciting terrain and descents. Regional ski touring in the nearest low mountain range was the new discovery and rediscovery par excellence at the height of the pandemic: Badisch Columbia 2021! We stay at home and head east, north, west and south. There's snow everywhere and hopefully freedom to travel again soon.

Well, I still can't get around youtube completely. You can expect a nice mix of amateur recordings and philosophical works, and yes, you see right, we have Japow on offer!

When I cross the Alps twice by public transport at Christmas time, transporting one or two pairs of skis, I can only do it so comfortably because I have a ski bag with wheels. A task that looks like Sisyphus suddenly becomes child's play.

We roam the familiar channels and are surprised at how well they continue to deliver: Mountain art and agony, how to and charm and dialect.

We elegantly bridge the barren heat period between the years with the annual scouting of the Alpine clubs' YouTube channels. These show a lot about how they see themselves. Some are in their infancy, neglected and antiquated, and some are packed with fancy content that our modern society so desperately needs.

Unlike the weather: the video precipitation accumulates on the www. The ski video contributions are currently very considerable. It's easy to fill the issue. We particularly enjoy the female influence and let them take the lead!

Marco Milanese is an alpine mountain guide, a modern adventurer and certainly a local legend in Friuli-Venezia-Giulia. The variety of his mountain activities is astonishing, based upon alpine climbing, reaching towards highlining and base jumping, but also incorporating skitouring, freeriding and speedflying. In this interview we try to find out about Marco and how he manages such a variety of mountain activities, how he deals with risk and what he was doing last winter.
