Freeride tour of the week | Baslersch Chopf
Steffen Kruse • 03/20/2016Having already presented the tour to the Sentisch Horn (2827), it is now time to turn our attention to its "smaller" brother, the Baslersch Chopf (2629). This is a kind of classic, which is relatively safe and quick to reach, but offers a variety of downhill options depending on the conditions (also in terms of exposure). The Sentisch Horn and the Baslersch Chopf can be combined and offer fun throughout the season. -

SpotCheck | Livigno
Steffen Kruse • 02/06/2016I actually had no expectations when I was invited to this press trip to Livigno. The reason for my visit was the cooperation with our new partner ALPsolut, the proximity to my home and my own interest in this special valley. -

Steffen Kruse • 01/06/2016"Remote triggering from approx. 200 meters, avalanche length approx. 120 meters, height max. 1 meter, cone 250 meters, ...". This avalanche report reached the SLF avalanche warning service on 19.12.2015 at 15:15. Steffen Kruse • 12/07/2015A lightweight, compact, water-repellent and yet very robust combo that is aimed more at the weight-oriented tourer, but with which you don't have to be afraid of a serious freeride day and also cuts a good figure when going to the Christmas market... -

Gear of the Week | Kneissl Big Foot
Steffen Kruse • 11/14/2015In 1990, Kneissl launched the new Big Foot sports equipment on the market, whereby the novelty relates more to the shape than the type. This was a milestone for the Kneissl company, founded in 1861, the world population and the die-hard short skier. Despite its unique snow glider, the company unfortunately did not manage to stay on the market and practically disappeared from the scene (insolvent). Only the Big Foot still shows continuity and performance. -

Steffen Kruse • 04/25/2015A roof over your head for two people is always a nice thing, even in outdoor times. It's even nicer when it's a reliable partner that has accompanied me in wind and weather for several years and provides reliable protection. -

Gear reviews | Dynastar Cham 97
Steffen Kruse • 04/06/2015I chose the ski at the beginning of the season, as my old all-round weapon has remained in Kyrgyzstan and will hopefully spend a long life there. I wasn't looking for real monster dumping days or gimmicks on the piste, but rather an everyday ski suitable for touring. I mounted a Dynafit Beast 14 on it (separate test). So much in advance, the ski covers my set goal relatively well. However, after a few days on the wood and in various conditions, I also noticed some weaknesses.
