Rumer Spitze - south channel/southwest

Snow condition
You can even get down surprisingly far, downhill to about 100m above the Rumer Alm in the avalanche line, otherwise it looks rather thin. On the south side due to the warm temperatures anyway, and there's not much snow on the north side either. The pines still need a lot more snow to be properly snowed in. Depending on the exposure, a lot of snow has been blown away, so some of the ridges have been completely blown away. Just under 2 stars, as with a well-considered choice of route there is definitely something possible.
Snow quality
The snow conditions on our descent from the Rumer Spitze were relatively good. The uppermost part (south-east) still had set powder snow. Then you ski south-west, where at 13:15 there was very nice firn snow almost all the way down to the Rumer Alm, although the snow quality is generally very changeable. There is a lot of wind influence. On the north side, it alternates between powdery snow and wind cover.
Risks
Some slightly older avalanche cones can be seen in the north-facing terrain. Below the Mandlscharte probably also a fresher snow slab on the north side). Wet loose snow avalanches from sunny, rocky terrain. Attention should also be paid to sliding snow avalanches. There are already a few considerably large avalanche cones on the south side (Arzler Reise + gully west of it, Rumer Alm avalanche line has also already come down).
Overall impression
Beautiful line from the Rumer Spitze via the south gully and then southwest down to the Rumer Alm. Not often found in good conditions. The exposure and timing are pretty good, from powder (southeast) to firn (southwest).
Route from Hafelekar briefly to the saddle to the east, then down to the north in settled powder. Ascent to Gleirschtaler Brandjoch and descent in changeable conditions towards Rumer Spitze Nordrinne. There was a larger, older snow slab in the north gully. This meant that it was not too deep to stomp up. In the last part then along the east ridge to the summit. The last section is heavily overgrown in places.
The Rumer Spitze legend Hans Höbling was probably also at the summit 2 hours before us today :D
