Snow condition
Difficult, but in the end you have to somehow appreciate the 20-25 cm that came yesterday. All in all, however, it is of course still incredibly bad. We cycled about 450m today before we could really get going. From about 1500m on the shaded side, things really get going to some extent. Most of it is in sheltered gullies, hollows and cirques, above about 1650m.
Snow quality
If you only look at certain higher altitude levels and exposures (>1650 m), then it is really fantastic: about 25 cm of cold blower lies on a nice soft layer of old snow, of course you still have to look for solid obstacles in the terrain, but it skis lower than it is and you can make a bit bigger jumps if the terrain allows it, further down the old snow cover becomes hard to feel, below 1500 m too little to ski properly, if you are lucky, you can slide along the side of the road.
Risks
From 1600 LWS 2, that's okay, but the snow has fallen very calmly overall. And - there's simply very little, and at higher altitudes there could still be layers of old snow. There is some sluff on very steep slopes, but not in large quantities. Great danger from stones or getting stuck, etc. at lower altitudes.
Overall impression
I gritted my teeth and gave it a fourth star due to the completely inadequate overall snow conditions. But first lines, awesome weather, great views, good vibez and great snow in places made this perhaps the best day of this rather sad season.
However, you have to walk long distances everywhere and sometimes be very careful of obstacles below.
It was also great that despite the endless masses of tourers at our alternative spot today, there was hardly anything going on and we had the first lines.
However, making tracks on the steeps was a bit exhausting.
