The freeride contest in Hike to Ride format goes into the next round!

Organizer

BoT starts highly motivated again in 2025! From 11-13 April, freeriders will meet up in the Silvretta to ski lines together. Participants spend three days at the Saarbrücker Hütte and explore the high alpine terrain under their own steam. In a convivial atmosphere, you will meet like-minded people who share your passion - and maybe you will win one of the attractive prizes!

Program

Day 1 (Friday)

  • 07:00 am Meeting at the Vermuntbahn Talstation

  • 08:45 hrs Ascent to Saarbrücker Hütte

  • 12:30 hrs Move into accommodation & Free riding

  • 18:00 hrs Dinner (Please note: bring your own food for the first day!)

Day 2 (Saturday)

  • 06:30 breakfast

  • 07:00 discussion of the day's schedule & ascent to the Face

  • 09:00 Face Inspection/ Ridersmeeting

  • 11:00 start contest & free riding

  • 18:00 dinner, award ceremony & cosy get-together

Day 3 (Sunday)

  • 06:30 breakfast

  • 07:00 discussion of the day's program & hike n' ride around the Saarbrücker Hütte

  • 16:00 last bus to the Vermuntbahn

Equipment

  • Helmet

  • Avalanche transceiver - avalanche transceiver (full batteries)

  • Backpack with (avalanche probe & avalanche shovel)

  • Ascent aid (skins, splitboard, snowshoes, telescopic poles)

  • Marching provisions for the 1st day. Day 1, muesli bars, etc.

  • Drinking bottle (min. 1 litre)

  • Sun cream, Chapstick

  • Sunglasses, hat, gloves, etc.

  • Change of clothes (for travelling and the hut)

  • Hut sleeping bag (hygiene - blankets and pillows available at the hut)

  • Personal necessities, washing kit, etc. (sanitary facilities at the hut). (sanitary facilities available at the hut)

  • Cash

  • Take only the essentials, because every kilo less in your backpack makes the ascent to the hut easier.

Costs

  • The participation fee for the freeride weekend is € 309,-

    • Event participation 11 - 13 April 2025

    • 2x overnight stay at the Saarbrückehütte

    • 2x breakfast/ 2x packed lunch + tea/ 2x dinner (bring your own food for the first day)

    • Transfer by Vermuntbahn cable car/tunnel taxi

Note: The contest may be brought forward to Friday due to weather and snow conditions!
