This clinic is all about honing your skills, broadening your understanding of off-piste terrain and preparing you to ski the ungroomed. From deep snow techniques to avalanche rescue, we'll provide you with the knowledge and skills to step your Freeride game up another level.

Learning objectives

The aim is to develop your skills, improve your understanding of off-piste terrain and prepare you to ski in open terrain.

  • Improve your skiing technique in deep snow, rutted terrain and challenging conditions

  • How to behave in challenging terrain

  • Advanced off-piste techniques

  • Avalanche safety basics

Equipment

  • Ski pass

  • Skis

  • Ski touring skins

  • Poles

  • Touring bindings

  • Touring ski

  • Suitable clothing in which you can spend a day on the mountain (expect sub-zero temperatures): Jacket, pants, midlayer & functional underwear

  • Helmet

  • Gloves

  • Backpack* with: Avalanche probe, avalanche transceiver, avalanche shovel (metal)

*Airbag backpacks are preferred but not necessary.

Skill Level

Learn how to get expressive on steep slopes. This clinic was created and is led by Arc’teryx’ expert freeride guides. Expect to navigate steep, off-piste in a safe and controlled manner during the clinic.

Costs

  • 175**€

  • **The ski pass is not included in the price of the clinic and must be purchased through the ski resort. We recommend doing this in advance to avoid queues.
