Overview of equipment and differentiation between ski touring on the piste, ski touring and freetouring
Efficient walking technique on touring skis - from curved tracks to hairpin turns
Correct track laying
Basic techniques in the terrain
Avalanche safety basics

Suitable clothing in which you can spend a day on the mountain (expect sub-zero temperatures): Jacket, pants, midlayer & functional underwear

Skill Level
In this course, created by experienced Arc'teryx guides, you will learn the basics of backcountry touring. Participants should be able to
Ascend for around two hours (600 hm) on touring skis / splitboard
Safe and controlled skiing on black slopes is required for the descent
Experience off-piste is an advantage
