Tajikistan is less well known, less developed, but all the more exciting. Instead of a large crew, there are unfortunately only three of us at the start this year. The plan: discover as much as possible and ski as much as possible in a country that promises real pioneering vibes for ski tours.
Before we really get going, we would like to say thank you. The planning of this trip was done together with Parviz Emomov from the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan. Without him and the support of the Ministry, our trip would not have been such a great experience. Thanks also go to Jumakhonzoda Jamshed Jurakhon, Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, and to Salimzoda Ziyodullo, Deputy Chairman of the Committee. Last but not least, a huge thank you to Farangis Pirmadova, Head of International Relations Department, for her help and support in all situations. We would also like to thank the ski resort in Safed Dara and the Safed Dara Hotel for their great support.
Before we hit the powder for the first time, this trip shows us its first side: chaos. A missed flight, lost luggage and suddenly the question of how to actually go on a ski trip without ski boots. While we are still wavering between improvisation and gallows humor, we land in Dushanbe and immerse ourselves in another world.
