The Tyrolean avalanche warning service has polished up some of its additional services and optimized them for use with mobile devices. The situation report is now also available via WhatsApp.

Update of the app
The highly recommended Avalanche Tirol app has been given a new interface. It is now easier and clearer to use. The start page provides a quick overview of all available information and functions, and detailed descriptions of avalanche problems and hazard patterns have been added, as well as an avalanche glossary. LAWIS: Instructions and mobile use
The "Avalanche Information System" LAWIS (www.lawis.at, LWD Tirol, LWD Styria, LWD Salzburg) offers quick and clear access to weather station data, snow profiles and accident reports. Since this winter, a book-like symbol in the top left-hand corner has been used to access detailed instructions and explanations of the available data. Among other things, the symbols and notations in the snow profile graphics are explained, and the parameters measured at the weather stations and their potential significance for the avalanche risk are explained by way of example. At www.lawis.at/m there is a version of LAWIS specially designed for mobile devices.
