Under unfavorable circumstances, this can impair the deploying force of the Avabag airbag system. According to Ortovox, a possible loss of pressure in the cartridge can be reliably identified during the mandatory weighing check of the cartridge before each use of the system.
Ortovox would like to expressly point out once again at the start of the touring season that the weight of the Avabag Carbon cartridge must be checked before each use of an Avabag-Airbag backpack by means of a weighing check. A detailed description of this check can be found in the operating instructions for each Avabag airbag backpack as well as here in the operating instructions for the individual models. Cartridges that show no pressure loss during the weighing test can be used immediately after the test without hesitation. Affected cartridges with pressure loss can be replaced by a specialist dealer.
The weight of the cartridge must not deviate from the target weight by more than 5g. The cartridge must be weighed without the protective cap.
