Two-ear bunny or no-ear bunny?
A glance out of the window today reveals: sunny, clear to cloudy... or perhaps the end of the world? Seriously, it's April. Despite (or perhaps because of) the PowderGuide WeatherBlog, we know: You don't really know what's going to happen. But as our fathers and their fathers used to say: "There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes."
As we all know, the problem with clothing in the mountains is often the load. After all, the mantra is: travel light. Who wants to lug around three different pieces of headgear just because the thermometer is on a rollercoaster?
The Swiss army knife for your head
This is where the "Gear of the Week" comes into play: the Earflap cap. Whether as a classic cap with fold-out ear flaps, as a model with a sewn-in headband or as a padded winter version - the principle is unbeatably practical.
While the ear flaps - depending on the model - simply disappear inside or outside when climbing in the sunshine and the visor protects the face from the merciless UV rays, a quick flick of the wrist is enough as soon as the wind picks up. The flaps are folded out and your sensitive ears are protected from the "freeze" without having to die from the heat under a thick woolly hat.
