Small helpers with a big effect - hand warmers

by Pamela Wehinger 03/10/2019
Hand warmers now accompany me in winter and summer. No matter what time of year - high up in the mountains, they prove to be my savior in times of need!

Ice-cold hands are unpleasant during activities in the mountains in both winter and summer. Hand warmers are my little helpers with a big impact.

On cold winter days, I may activate them in the morning when I'm skinning up and leave them in my gloves while I'm skiing uphill. Skiing downhill is half as much fun with cold fingers. With the hand warmers, cold fingers are history!

Even in summer, ice-cold fingers sometimes make my life difficult. After a strenuous, sweaty bike tour to a summit, the blood draws back from my fingers within a very short time in the cool mountain air. Bloodless fingers hurt and it's a challenge to apply the brakes properly. So even in summer, I'm now glad of my hand warmers.

I was only convinced by the heat pads from The Heat Company (https://www.theheatcompany.com/de-at)

The decisive advantage lies in their warming time. The pads heat up in just a few minutes and actually last a whole, long day of skiing! They are soft and relatively small, so they don't get in the way inside the glove. According to the manufacturer, the heat pads are filled with 100% natural ingredients and are therefore not harmful to the environment.
