Gear of the week | Merino base layer by Kari Traa

Eine skandinavische, superweiche und ultrawarme Schönheit.

Drei Worte fassen die Rose Merinounterwäsche von Kari Traa perfekt zusammen: weich, bewegungsfreundlich und wunderschön.

The material is so smooth and stretchy that I couldn’t resist bringing it along—not just for freeriding this week, but also for a session at the climbing gym. Pulling it on feels incredibly cozy, a feeling only amplified by the chorus of compliments from family members echoing through the apartment. While it might be a bit too warm as a base layer for long ski tours, it's absolutely perfect for freezing days, snowman-& -women building adventures, or worn as a light mid-layer with undeniable “stylo” appeal.

Both the Rose Half Zip Shirt and the Rose High Waist Pants feature elastic inserts under the arms and along the sides of the thighs, giving them an impressively flexible, free-moving feel. I especially love the high collar on the shirt—it adds extra warmth when zipped up, but can be opened easily with the half-zip when things heat up a bit. And as someone who’s pretty picky about how pants feel around the waist, the Rose High Waist gets a big thumbs-up from me: it keeps everything comfortably warm without any squeezing or pressure.

Summarizing, it is no exaggeration on the website of Kari Traa when calling this base layer "an icon of the Scandinavian winter" and a "wardrobe favorite".
