When I was recommended the Komperdell Mono Cross protector by a friend, I was skeptical at first. Back then, baggy outfits were still in fashion and a tight-fitting body didn't fit in at all. However, I had been looking for a back protector for some time that wouldn't slide upwards due to my movements when snowboarding. Until then, I had tried to solve the problem by connecting my back protector to a pair of protector trousers using loops I had sewn on myself. This worked quite well to some extent, but unfortunately only partially. That's why I gave the protector body a chance, despite my strong fashion reservations. And what can I say, I was thrilled and this back protector has now been my faithful companion on hundreds of snowboarding and skiing days for almost 10 years.
The protector body has completely fulfilled all my requirements for a good fit. From the very first day, the annoying riding up was a thing of the past and the end of the back protector no longer gets caught on the belt or waistband in the area of the coccyx. But the bodysuit had something else up its sleeve: I can't remember when I noticed this "game changer", but it fundamentally changed my outerwear concept, because until that day I was a firm believer in bib pants. I hated it when the snow slid down my backside, between my jacket and trousers and into my ski underwear or even my skin. Thanks to my grandma's years of imprinting, this bare back was also unacceptable. Therefore, the higher the bib, the better (this even went so far that one of my bibs was once described with the words "Wat 'n dasss? That's a sack"). However, once when I wasn't wearing my beloved bib, I noticed that the protector body not only prevented the protector from riding up, but also prevented my underwear and skin from coming into contact with the snow. Eureka! Since then, I've hardly ever worn bib pants and still have a warm and dry back, much to my grandma's delight.
