Join in and win great prizes in the snow depth prediction game at the Freeride Testival in Hochfügen.

01/23/2026
PowderGuide
The legendary PowderGuide snow depth prediction game will be held four times this winter at the Freeride Testival stops - and each time you can win great prizes. PowderGuide will be present at all stops to hand out the prizes directly. It starts with the stop in Hochfügen from January 23 to 25, 2026, where you can take home prizes from Korua, Head, Dynafit, Deuter and of course PowderGuide worth 1,400 euros!

PowderGuide on site at the Freeride Testivals

PowderGuide will be on site at the four stops of the Freeride Testivals this winter together with our cooperation partner Penguin with a stand, which has been aptly named The Powder Collective. The first stop will take place from tomorrow, January 23 to 25, 2026 in Hochfügen. The stand is the central hub for the community and offers much more than just an exchange of information and a betting game. You can find more info here.

PowderGuide.com is also a weather partner of the Freeride Testivals and without giving away any big secrets: the snow conditions are below average and unfortunately not much fresh snow is forecast for the Zillertal today. There could be some precipitation in the form of snow on Sunday, but unfortunately it will probably be small to cosmetic amounts. Unfortunately, sunshine will be swallowed up by 98% cloud cover, but we're sure that the atmosphere will still be great under the clouds!

Winter in the Northern Alps and Hochfügen could show itself again by the middle of next week, but as our meteorologists and the PowderAlert oracle would say: any forecast more than 72 hours in advance is pure crystal ball reading! In any case, we're keeping our fingers crossed that our model is wrong here and that more precipitation will fall before then.

Snow depth prediction game in Hochfügen

The PowderGuide snow depth prediction game is usually called out with every PowderAlert: Everyone bets on the amount of new snow that will fall at a weather station by the end of the alert. Since this winter, the prediction game has been played in a slightly modified version at various events where PowderGuide is on site. At the FreerideFilmFestival in Innsbruck at the beginning of November there was already a lot of betting going on. This weekend, the prediction game for the first stop of the Freeride Testival 2026 will be played.

The amount of fresh snow in the Northern Alps this winter is a bit, shall we say, special. The winter hasn't really got going yet, which is why we have to get a bit creative for the prediction game. That's why our prediction game master Anselm has come up with a special prediction game question about the amount of precipitation below zero degrees Celsius - sometimes this precipitation is also referred to as snow. Maybe there will be some on Sunday and the prediction game question will be all the more interesting!

The prediction game question for the stop in Hochfügen is:

How much precipitation in millimeters at air temperatures below zero degrees Celsius has there been and will there be this winter 2025/26 at the Loassattel station (1675 m) above Hochfügen up to and including Sunday, January 25, 2026, at 2 pm?

Read below to find out how you can take part - for now, let's move on to more important things...
