The last summit of this year's Freeride Testival Tour had everything a freerider's heart could desire. Bright blue skies, fresh snow and cold temperatures made for a worthy end to the Testival season. And of course there were once again great prizes to be won in the snow depth prediction game!

The legendary PowderGuide snow depth prediction game will be at the Freeride Testival stops four times this winter - and each time you can win great prizes. PowderGuide will be present at all stops to hand out the prizes directly. Now at the last stop on the Stubai Glacier from March 21st to 22nd, 2026, you can take home unique prizes from Faction, Head, Kohla and Scott Sports worth almost 2,000 euros!

After the successful stops in Hochfügen and Montafon, the Freeride Testival 2026 returned to Warth-Schröcken for its third stop. PowderGuide was once again part of the action. In perfect spring weather and firn, we were not only able to put numerous skis through their paces, but also present our newly launched weather map to the public!

PowderGuide is back again for the second stop. It hasn't snowed much or at all since Hochfügen, but the anticipation is still great! The weather oracle predicted some fresh snow followed by many hours of sunshine at the weekend. Perfect conditions!

The forecast a week before the event still looked like freshies were coming. It only snowed in the last few hours on Sunday, but we still had a great weekend in Hochfügen! The highlight at the end was handing over the main prize to the winner of our snow depth prediction game.

Only the avalanche situation is more exciting than the weather. The dry early winter in the Austrian Alps is taking its revenge. A pronounced weak layer combined with wind and fresh snow has provoked a series of avalanche accidents and claimed several victims. Kamchatka was also badly hit, with huge snowdrifts burying homes and people. Europe is also facing a stormy week. Quo vadis 2026?

The Freeride Testival Tour 2026 is in the starting blocks and promises an exciting combination of equipment tests for the next season (free of charge), professional coaching and a real community vibe. Whether you're a beginner looking to gain your first off-piste experience or a pro looking for the perfect setup - the tour stops in Hochfügen, Silvretta Montafon, Warth-Schröcken and on the Stubai Glacier offer the right skis, course and terrain for every level. There is one thing you can take away from last winter: It can only get better. In terms of the amount of snow, the winter was weak and had long enough dry spells between new snowfalls. This winter got off to a better start. The first PowderAlert came unexpectedly early, and the first ConditionsReports have already arrived and look promising. Let's keep our fingers crossed for Ullr that it will once again cover the mountains properly. Of course, the snow depth prediction game is back - this time in the 10th anniversary edition or tradition!
