A dump worthy of the name at last. Now that it has become relatively cold, there is finally something useful coming from the sky and the powder fast has come to an end. The snow line will remain around or below 1000 m despite the southwest and südstau and the amounts will be quite decent. The entire south-western Alpine region from the Hautes Alpes southwards and the southern slopes of the Alps from Aosta to Slovenia will be affected. It will start snowing slowly on Sunday morning and will not stop in the south until Tuesday / Wednesday. The amounts are somewhat difficult to narrow down and vary from model to model. However, I don't think that the meters will add up in the Engadine like in PG in color and colorful, and while it will slowly decrease in the south on Monday, the west in France will still get a second helping, which should even reach Chamonix.
All in all, a good 40-60 cm can come together in the areas mentioned, depending on the mood and the path of the low, up to 20 cm more can come together, so that 70-80 cm are also possible. However, it can also deviate downwards, as Vb lows are as capricious as TV characters, so that the range fluctuates between 25 and 80 cm. From Monday, the north will also get some, so that the 10-20 cm of the last few days could be joined by another 15-30 cm.
Further prospects: Easter powder
In the medium term, it doesn't look like the Easter bunny will have to pack a bathing suit for the Easter weeks, but rather that Ullr's icy grip could keep the Alps busy for even longer. So have fun out there while I spend the third weekend in a row with work and/or illness this week.
