For us freeriders, there is no such limitation when it comes to powder, there is no such thing as "too much". We are never full - or, to put it less nicely: We are the pugs of the winter sports business. We keep going until there is no more powder.
Ullr now sends us an alarm, which lasts for a short time. (Therefore NO TIPSPIEL!). It wasn't entirely clear beforehand whether it would be an alarm, and it hardly makes anyone really happy afterwards. Because it doesn't snow that much or in the wrong areas, with little base. And by Wednesday night, it's all over again, leaving us with a feeling of fullness. A fast food alert. But when you're hungry, fast food is better than nothing, and sometimes fast food is pretty awesome.
Alarm period and areas
Flakes come down almost everywhere, but due to the south-westerly flow there are only alert amounts in France from the Hautes Alpes to the Maritime Alps and in the rest of the Southern Alps from eastern Ticino to the Austria/Italy/Slovenia border triangle. There is hardly a core, but the Maritime Alps and the border triangle could get a little more. In the far west of the northern Alps, in the foothills of the Alps, there could be just enough for an alert in areas with a little south-west Stau potential. The alert will end in the night of Wednesday to Thursday morning in the far east.
