This alert goes from the Hautes Alpes in France to the Arlberg, whereby the core will probably lie between France and the northern and western Valais.

This alert goes until Tuesday morning.

Wind

The wind will be quite strong, but not a storm, so powder should still be found further up, protected from the wind. However, the base in the west is not as stable as in the north and east, so it will still be tricky. So: pay attention to the LLBs! The Swiss already have a 4 in it for Monday.

Where should I go?

In the west, because not only is it snowing there, but more is coming on Wednesday - and possibly towards the weekend. I'd recommend the northernmost part of France or western Valais, as the base in the rest of France is still a bit sparse. Don't forget: they got almost nothing from the snow of the first few weeks of January.

Morning in the trees or in the meadows, depending on how far south you are in France. It should break up on Tuesday, so you can also look for powder further up.

Mid-Friday

It will remain quite cool and there will also be new snow in the west. Whether it will be enough for an alert on Wednesday will be decided on Tuesday evening. Towards the weekend, the westerly flow is likely to become more southerly, but this is not yet entirely clear. However, it will remain skiable and the respectable winter 18/19 will get new impetus from Ullr.
