PowderGuide goes into summer
06/09/2026 • Theresa SchrannerThe blossoming of nature, birdsong and noticeably longer days already give it away: the cold months are coming to an end in our climes. Green slopes, rocky ridges and blooming alpine pastures are now replacing the white winter splendor - but the fascination for the mountains remains exactly the same. For us snow enthusiasts, this means that we can either head off into the alpine touring season or say goodbye to the snow for the time being and look ahead to other adventures. For now, of course, because after the season is before the season! -

Videos of the Week #9 2025/26 | Inefficient Joy
12/19/2025 • Hannes HemperOne of my favorite weeks so far. We finally get a new Beyond Medals movie with a full Lord of the Rings intro. We follow Jean on his bikepacking trip from Chamonix to Norway - what an adventure. In addition, the duo Sampo and LDM present their new film, which won the award for best picture at iF3. Even if the snow isn't always the best, we all have fun - and Boom Clubs Cali Rambo delivers that and more. -

PowderPeople | Max Kroneck - Part I
10/17/2025 • Claus LochbihlerIn three weeks by train from Tarvisio in Italy to Turkey - and in between ski tours in the High Tatras, Bulgaria, the Romanian Carpathians and on Turkish volcanic mountains. This is the subject of the film "Going East" by and with Max Kroneck, Loïc Isliker (director), Silvia Moser and Joi Hoffmann. In the interview, Max Kroneck explains why he originally wanted to go to Corsica, how he uses the railway as a mountain guide and why the bicycle is ultimately the freest means of transport. -

PowderPeople | Enrico "Mose" Mosetti
03/07/2025 • Sebastian MüllerEnrico Mosetti is to me a local legend among the freeskiers of the Italian Julian Alps. Me, a bavarian Triestino, came to hear of him on a drive back home from a ski tour. My friends were talking about "Mose" doing this or that cool line, and then I found out about him through Instagram. Soon though, on another day we arrived at Sella Nevea at the parking for the western side of the valley, the one without ski lifts, and there I saw him for the first time, and he was hard to mistake with his characteristic extravagant style. He was first to start the skinning and likely first to descend as well. I here in this interview try to find out more about him and to introduce this PowderPeople to you! -

Gear of the week | Cyclite Ski Rack
04/02/2023 • PowderGuide"Bike-to-ski" is somehow trendy, although not too many skiers or ski tourers actually get on their bikes to reach the lift or starting point for a ski tour. Of course, the place of residence plays a major role here. The journey to the railway station or bus stop can also be covered quickly by bike in some circumstances and helps with the environmentally friendly journey to the snow. -

Tian Shan Traverse Part 1 - Cycling adventure in Kyrgyzstan
10/15/2019 • Johannes Schwaderlapp
Some people may look askance when you tell them that you have cycled through Kyrgyzstan, but the Central Asian country is now well known among adventure seekers. Most of Kyrgyzstan is crossed by the Tian Shan, a mountain range that stretches between Uzbekistan in the east and the Uyghur Autonomous Region of Xinjiang in northwest China. Johannes and Yannic spent 4 weeks cycling there and report on their trip. -

Bike mountaineering through the Central Alps - A diary report | Part I
10/09/2009 • Achim Nagel
In 18 days from the Watzmann to Lake Geneva. Four main ridge crossings, 50,000 vertical meters, 1300 km route, 16 times over 2400 m and 8 times over 3000 m. These are the pure facts of a crossing of the Central Alps by bike. Trudging along hiking trails with an 18 kg bike and 14 kg of luggage are rather unsuitable conditions for such a sporting record hunt. However, the fun factor is record-breakingly high. The fact that "coincidentally" half of the uphill meters can be done with climbing aids naturally also helps -
