Snow of Tomorrow | The mountains are political - Part II
03/12/2026 • Lena MairIn the first article, “Snow of Tomorrow | The mountains are political - Part I,” Lena explained her connection to the mountains and why they should be seen as a political space. Her personal bond with nature and the threat posed by man-made climate change led her to question individual and societal responsibility — and ultimately to activism, which is the focus of this second article. This article is a guest contribution and reflects the author’s personal views. PowderGuide sees itself as a platform for discourse and aims to make different perspectives visible. Our “Snow of Tomorrow” section grew out of the debate on human-made climate change and now addresses broader critical and future-relevant issues in mountain sports. We invite you to join the discussion and share your perspective in the comments. -

04/17/2023 • Jan Imberi
It is difficult to write about winter when it "does not" exist. It becomes a reminiscence that is objectively supported by a multitude of measurements and scientific studies and comparisons, but is subjectively nourished by a feeling that increasingly fades the longer and more often it is absent. At the end of the Snow of Tomorrow season, PGler Jan reflects on the past winter that wasn't one and those that are yet to come. -

01/08/2021 • Sebastian MüllerInspired by the last column "Snow of Tomorrow", the new mantra is: "Sustainability sells". The VdW and the ski film industry also need to reorient themselves: "Bigger, deeper, steeper" plus "fat beats" times "kerosene" only leads to "head shaking to tired yawns" among the trained public. So here we present a selection of particularly "green, sustainable, environmentally friendly" ski films, or at least that's what we think. -
