Level Up is a freeride event for women, created by Marion Hearty, four-time winner of the Freeride World Tour and winner of Natural Selection 2024. At the end of January, I had the honor of taking part in the Freeride Girls event. This is my report on the first edition of Level Up.

Val Thorens welcomed the PowderGuide press team on Saturday morning, 24th of January 2025, with bright sunshine and an impressive backdrop at an altitude of 2,300 metres. The largest interconnected ski resort in the world, the "Trois Vallées", beckoned with countless possibilities, but it was already clear when exploring the highest mountain stations: this FWT stop was going to be a challenge! The wind tugged at the peaks, drifting snow piled up in hidden hollows, while bare rocks peaked out of the snow cover. The weather forecast? Uncertain - a first indication that flexibility and patience would be required.

The Freeride World Tour kicked off the 2021 season with two contests. In Ordino-Arcalis (Andorra), the two competitions were held a few days apart on the same face. Although the snow conditions and the length of the face did not give rise to any great expectations, the riders delivered an exciting event that was good to watch.

The final of the FWT in Verbier was of course already canceled 2 weeks ago. The 25th anniversary of the Verbier Xtreme was actually scheduled for these days. The results of the FWT and FWQ were frozen and the current leaders were declared the overall winners. This article summarizes this ranking including the newly qualified from the FWQs.

The conditions at the tenth anniversary of the FWT stop in Fieberbrunn could not have been better: With fresh new snow and the best weather, Marion Haerty (FRA), Arianna Tricomi (ITA), Nils Mindnich (USA) and Craig Murray (NZL) won the fourth and penultimate FWT stage of 2020. Gigi Rüf (AUT) came second in the snowboarder category and Tao Kreibich (AUT) secured a strong fifth place in the skier category.

Good snow conditions and solid riding performances were on show at the replay of the FWT contest on Sunday evening. At the second tour stop of the FWT 2020 in Kicking Horse, Golden, BC, Jessica Hotter (NZL), Marion Haerty (FRA), Kristofer Turdell (SWE) and Jonathan Penfield (USA) were crowned winners.

Hedvig Wessel (NOR), Marion Haerty (FRA), Drew Tabke (USA) and Victor De Le Rue (FRA) are the winners of the first tour stop of the Freeride World Tour 2020 in Hakuba, Japan. Elias Elhardt from Oberstaufen took third place in the snowboarder category, while Tao Kreibich (AUT) and Konstantin Ottner (GER) were unfortunately unable to score points on their debut.

Here we go again! The Freeride World Tour 2020 starts next weekend in Hakuba, Japan. The qualifier season has already started, after a few contests in France and French-speaking Switzerland, the German-speaking countries have now also kicked off the season with the 3*FWQ/2*FJT in Kappl.

Victories for Jaclyn Paaso (USA) and Léo Slemett (FRA) among the skiers and Marion Haerty (FRA) and Blake Hamm (USA) among the snowboarders. Marion Haerty (FRA) is already the world champion for sure, Markus Eder and Victor De Le Rue also have a comfortable lead, while the women's skiing remains exciting.

Bright sunshine, good snow conditions, spring-like temperatures and some fresh snow awaited the riders of the Freeride World Tour at the third stop of the season in Fieberbrunn on Sunday.

You spend the whole day looking forward to the live stream of the Freeride World Tour, perfectly timed for the working and skiing population of Central Europe, and then - not for the first time - the broadcast has to contend with severe problems.

At the penultimate tour stop of the FWT, things got down to business once again and in most categories it remained exciting right up to the end in Verbier. However, Kristoffer Turdell has already secured the FWT title in the men's skiing category. The day after the FWT, a 3* FJT contest took place at the Wildseeloder from the women's start, which we will also report on at the end.
