Ortovox Avabag LiTRIC

The electronic LiTRIC airbag relies on supercapacitors to inflate the airbag, which enables a very lightweight electronic airbag system. Of course, the system also offers all the familiar advantages of an electronically operated airbag, such as being very easy to carry on the aircraft, problem-free test deployments and, last but not least, no need to dispose of and procure cartridges.

In 2022, the Ortovox Avabag LiTRIC system was one of the innovations at the ISPO fare. At just 1100 grams, it is lightweight, technically sophisticated and reliable and enables at least two releases with just one charge. Ortovox even won the ISPO Award and the Red Dot Design Award for it.

Ortovox is recalling the Litric airbag backpacks. In some cases, the recently introduced electronic airbags have problems with the blower unit. For this reason, Ortovox is voluntarily recalling all Avabag LiTRIC models (Avabag LiTRIC Tour, Avabag LiTRIC Freeride, Avabag LiTRIC Zero) including the zip-ons.

The airbag system from Ortovox and Arcteryx, which won the ISPO Award 2022, is one of the new products of the season and is currently the subject of many magazines for good reason. Airbag systems have established themselves in recent years and are now standard equipment for many people. In recent years, it has become apparent that more and more manufacturers are trying to switch from the classic cartridge system to electronic systems.

ISPO, an interesting but also very exhausting trade fair, has been moved from its usual date in January to the autumn.
