Hagrin, Yates, Tabke and Backstrom win the first tour stop of the 2013 Freeride World Tour in Revelstoke!

Sam Smoothy (NZL) wins a stop of the FWT for the first time and then immediately in the freeride mecca of Chamonix (FRA). With his fluid riding style, he clearly set himself apart from Reiner Barkered (SWE) and Oakley White-Allen. The latter now leads the overall standings. In the women's event (skiing), Jaclyn Paaso (USA) could not be beaten by Angel Collinson (USA) and Janina Kuzma (NZL). The snowboard competition was won by French local Douds Charlet (FRA), who finished on the podium ahead of Ralph Backstrom (USA) and his compatriot Aurelien Routens (FRA). The women's podium (snowboard) was also dominated by North Americans: Maria Debari (USA) won ahead of Margot Rozies (FRA) and Shannan Yates (USA).

After two weather-related waiting days, the skiers' final was finally held in Revelstoke, Canada on Wednesday, January 11, 2012. The North Americans showed clear dominance on the "Mac Daddy"face and displayed breathtaking freeriding, just as you would expect from the best freeriders in the world.

The second day of the contest in Revelstoke, Canada, belonged entirely to the world's elite freeride snowboarders. 17 men and 6 women put their skills to the test on the "Mackenzie Face? on Saturday, January 7, 2012. However, the skiers' final scheduled for Sunday, 8.1.2012, had to be postponed due to the weather.
