Now that Star Wars is finally (really?!) coming to an end and Skywalker's heirs are beginning their final space ride, an exciting pre-Christmas week is about to begin. Ullr has had enough of far too high temperatures and in the coming südstau there is at least the chance of good snow again in the western Southern Alps. And that's just the beginning. May the force be with us!

The time has come to really step on the gas. The Oracle is live in alarm number 2 and it's really nice to be able to ride bottomless with face shots on day one of the season. The stone skis stay mothballed and the fat slats are happy - nice!

All your base are belong to us! The internet meme always makes sense in a skiing context and Ullr sends us dump number 2 to the south. Now you can finally swap your stone skis for the good slats and go skiing. By that, however, I still mean relaxed early-season turns and not shooting with the handbrake off.

New winter, new happiness. All aboard the Pow Train! Uh, or something like that. Nice to be back. Now that there's a minimal base from 2000-2200m, which even goes further down in places, you might even be able to ride the upcoming minidump carefully. Ullr is slowly warming up and will be sending some supplies until Wednesday evening to even out the settlement. In the east, however, there could already be quite a lot after this alarm.

It's done. After a few small snowfalls over the last few days, none of which exceeded 30 cm, there is now finally some more snow in alarming quantities. Unfortunately only on a very small scale, but the medium term gives hope! Ullr seems to be back from his work abroad in California and is finally making us happy again with fresh snow. After minor snowfalls here and there, Ullr is now bringing alarm-worthy amounts to the south again. It has already started to snow and there will be a lot by Monday. The problem with southern alerts in spring is of course the high snow line in the south, in addition to the foehn in the north.

While it's just a bit of a flurry in the northern Alps these days, the situation far to the south-east is more exciting, albeit very uncertain. Next week, a phase of extremely wintry temperatures is on the horizon across a large area.

There is finally cold powder again, unfortunately there is only an alert in the south-east, while in the north only small amounts fall just below the alert. The westernmost tips of France and Switzerland could be an exception.

It's getting warmer and everyone fears the worst, but Ullr comes back on stage with verve and roars: ARE YOU READY? If you don't know the allusion from the metal mockumentary "This is Spinal Tap", you're in luck:

It's that time again, a new alarm is sounding. The oracle is not moping and the medium-term prospects are not bad either. All better than the last few years. If Ullr were a Bundesliga team, they wouldn't be on their way to the Champions League this year, but they wouldn't be on their way to their 4th relegation in a row either. A healthy midfield somewhere between 8th and 12th place would probably be the appropriate analogy for this winter.

When snow forecast cards appear in the Facebook feed, then and only then is it officially winter. The Oracle, always waiting in the Ullr shrine, is of course also informed and is delighted that Ullr is sending out his first sign of life and returning to his kingdom. I would like to share this happy news with you.

After Ullr has already brought a nice winter constellation in the north and west, it's now the south's turn. There's also enough for alerts in the west, but they'll be rather short-lived. This alert is valid until Sunday morning before new precipitation sets in again on Sunday evening.
