A particularly beautiful descent from the 2865-metre-high Monte Caurga, which, however, requires a 45-minute ascent and should only be attempted a few days after fresh snow or in firn conditions due to the consistently steep terrain.
Ascent
From Pizzo Groppera, descend north past the Passo di Groppera skiers right to the small, snow-covered lake (2594 m). From there, first follow the slope northwards, maintaining the altitude, and then continue northwards up a wide gully to the ridge crest that leads westwards to Monte Caurga.
Descent
The descent first takes you a little to the right (NW) and then also westwards, initially steeply over fantastic but consistently racy slopes past Alpe Groppera and back to the pizzeria in the ski area.
