Videos of the Week #20 2025/26 | Stereotypes, Engagement & Black Community

Collective "Technically Doing It" with David Djité

03/27/2026
Hannes Hemper
The season is coming to an end, but the snow is returning once again and the contest scene is in full swing - with the SLVSH Cup, Natural Selection, Spring Battle and more. There are also exciting insights away from the slopes: a documentary about the black snowboard scene, an all-girls street film and two projects from Mt. Hood that show the unique scene there.

Video 1: Portrait of snowboarder David Djité: stereotypes, commitment & black community | Bounce | SRF

What a great documentary and what a great person. The Swiss man exudes a thoughtful joie de vivre that is simply infectious, and his words speak for themselves.

David Djité discovered his passion for snowboarding at an early age, which led him to professional sport. He competed internationally for Switzerland for five years. Nevertheless, he was often not perceived as Swiss in the mountains and was confronted with prejudice. To counteract this, he founded the Technically Doing It collective in 2023, which campaigns for more visibility for colored snowboarders. His goal: more diversity on the slopes.

Video 2: SUNSHINE | A B-Dog Bone | Newschoolers Originals S4E03

Finally a new NS Originals episode. The concept: short oldschool-style park edits that you can watch again and again for inspiration. The focus is on some of the most style-defining movie and ski duo combinations in the parks. This time: technically demanding and full of style - with Phil Casabon, aka B-Dog.

Video 3: Keep The Love - A snowboard movie by Bram Muylle

Sunshine and the joy of simplicity - that's what it's all about here, regardless of the surface. Plus Kevin's art and a nice insight into the Laax scene.

Snowboarding has always been an expression of freedom: finding your own line and being completely in the moment. Whether on the slopes, in the powder or in the park with the people you love - "Keep The Love" is a tribute to this feeling. Shot in the home resort of LAAX, with Kevin Trammer on the board and his art in focus.

Riders: Kevin Trammer, Luca Kuppelwieser, Jelle Vandenwauver, Dominik Metzler

Video 4: Silence Champion by SD_archive and Laura Obermeyer

An all-girl street ski film from Salomon Depart, directed by Laura Obermeyer and Liv Cull, starring Skye Clarke. Shot in Montana, New Hampshire, Vermont, Québec, the Glarnerland and the Bernese Oberland. Girl-punk vibes, strong locations and great to see how this team blossoms together.

Riders: Laura Obermeyer, Liv Cull and Skye Clarke

Video 5: HOTLAPS - LEVEL 1 - SUPERUNKNOWN XXI

A compilation of the best footage from Andrew Gayda, aka Hotlaps. His style: Close-up followcams in the park, with RAW sound - almost like a video game. The session is from Level 1 SuperUnknown 2024, and you're riding smoothly through the park. And a Keegan part - thanks for that.

Riders: Édouard Therriault, Kuura Koivisto, Olivia Asselin, Beau-James Wells, Clayton Vila, Jackson Wells & Keegan Kilbride

Video 6: GAME 8 || Alec Henderson vs. Mathias Høgås || SLVSH CUP GRANDVALIRA '26

The last few weeks have been full of contests, and the SLVSH Cup is currently underway in Grandvalira at Haruta Park in Andorra. 16 skiers compete against each other 1-on-1 until a winner is determined - like a game of skate in the snow. It's exciting to see how the riders leave their comfort zone and how different styles clash. What a game between last year's winner Alec and Mathias!

Riders: Alec Henderson, Mathias Høgås and James Woods

Video 7: AbsolutPark | Spring Battle 2026 - Top 10 Men - EN Version

The Absolut Park is one of the most famous parks in Europe and offers a different kind of contest with the Spring Battle: riders have two days to film and submit their best run on a setup. Here are the top 10 - even if my favorite only came in 10th place.

Host: Tim Warwood

Video 8: ★ sangwicHD ★

A crew from Mt. Hood, filmed in spring and summer. Mt. Hood is known for its Spring Park and summer camps - countless film segments have been shot there. This crew delivers their own contribution: with a lot of charm, DIY spirit and a good dose of radicalism.

Riders: Ian Sullivan, Veronika Perfilyeva, Simon Knight, Stephen Pepe, Hunter Bissler, Nathan Taylor, Max Lemonds, Reilly Tardiff, Liam Robinson, Mark Goodall, Coulton Conway, Josefa Breckerfield, Sam Bakken, Mark Parrots, Danny Sokol, Brendan Sullivan, Jack Powell, Bo Breeze, SteLi

Video 9: Off the Record E4: Alaska Haines Pro | GoPro x FWT

A look behind the scenes with Max Hitzig - from the cancellation in Fieberbrunn to the cut to Alaska. The conditions are tough and the riders don't have it easy, but Max is super likeable.

Video 10: Shred Bowl II: A Mt. Hood Skibowl Film

9 years later! The group A Group Of Friends (AGOF) presents the sequel to their first movie, Shred Bowl. Shot over four seasons from 2021 to 2025, Shred Bowl II is a movie about the Mt. Hood ski bowl, showcasing hidden zones and little-visited terrain they discovered while riding.

They spent years exploring the mountains, waiting for the right snowstorms and returning again and again until everything fell into place. The last shot, from a cliff called "Tombstone", could only be jumped twice in the last ten years: in 2017 and 2023. Anyone who rides Mt. Hood knows that there is always more to discover.

Riders/Filmers: John Richter, Paul Richter, Alex Collison, Roth Chan, Taylor Hendrix, Aaron Sinclair, Hank Stowers, Finn Peterson, Zack Sefton & Friends

Contest of the week: YETI Natural Selection Snowboard - Finals Day in Revelstoke

Natural Selection is back for snowboarders. The ski event is currently underway in Alaska, and Red Bull TV is also showing the snowboarder and skier duels in Palisades Tahoe. Particularly worth seeing: a guest appearance by none other than Terje Håkonsen. The finals in Revelstoke offered the best conditions, the first double 10, gigantic drops and a rider who showed something completely new in every run - my hero Brin!
