Win three-stage freeride training with risk'n'fun!

We are again awarding participation in three risk'n'fun camps

by PowderGuide 11/07/2017
We are delighted to be able to offer a place at the training session, the next level camp and the end-of-season chillout again this year together with risk'n'fun. risk'n'fun is the training program of the Alpine Club Youth. In addition to learning technical skills, the freeride camps also focus on "human" topics such as group dynamics and personal risk perception.

Level 1: The training session

At the Level 1 camp, participants spend four days in the backcountry together with the guides and risk'n'fun coaches. The aim of the training is that after participating in the training session, you will be able to make your own decisions, argue and find lines and descent variants that suit the respective conditions. A personal "freeride strategy" will be developed, building on the pillars of risk'n'fun: perceive - assess - decide.

Date Level 1 - training session: 16-20.12.2017 Sölden

Level 2

From Level 2 onwards, it's time to go higher and into the terrain with splitboards and touring skis. The Next Level Camp builds on the content of the training session and focuses on independent planning of activities on the mountain. In addition to the further development of the "freeride strategy" from the Level 1 camp, the following topics are added: map skills, orientation, avalanche awareness (in-depth), tour planning.

Temin Level 2 - Next Level: 17.2.-21.2.2018 Kitzsteinhorn

Chillout

The traditional chillout in Fieberbrunn is the risk'n'fun end to the season, where everyone looks back on the season during a weekend together. In addition to joint activities on the mountain, the program includes films, lectures and discussions. And of course there will also be a party!

Date Chillout: 16.3.-18.3. Fieberbrunn

The price

We award participation in the above-mentioned camps. In addition to course participation and lift tickets, accommodation with half board is also included. You will need to take care of your own travel arrangements.

The winner should be available on all three dates and be able to ski or snowboard safely in variable snow conditions.

What you need to do

We are interested in your personal approach to freeriding: what does freeriding mean to you, what is part of a good freeriding day, who are you out with? What are your other goals on the mountain? Do you have projects that you want to realize in the future, but for which you still lack the tools? What do you hope to gain from the risk'n'fun training?

Answer these questions in the form of a short text or video and send us your application by email, including one or two pictures of you in action (please include risk'n'fun in the subject line).

We would like the winner to report on the training on Powderguide.com. So you should be willing to write a short report about each camp. Alternatively, we are also happy to receive videos if that is more your thing. Experience with text and/or film is an advantage!

The closing date for entries is 24.11.17. The winner will be notified on 27.11.
