In contrast to last year, there are many differences but also many similarities when it comes to the start of the best season of the year. I'm not talking about carnival, but about the Ulling, a season that roughly stretches from September to May and is very variable in its puvlig-soft appearance.

While the Oracle had become accustomed to swimming in the lake in recent years, it now has to remember the April months of the noughties, when you could ski powder more often.

In contrast to the last few years and the fears after the summery episode in March, there is now another nice alarm in April! With a northerly thaw and heavy showers and possibly record high altitude cold! (MeteoSwiss says: If minus 40 really does reach the Alps at an altitude of 5000m, you have to go back to 1973 to find anything comparable).

All those who have not yet finished with winter after this messed-up corona season and the Spanish February with its firn tours will now be rewarded by Ullr for their loyalty.

The average citizen fears it, the freerider hopes for it: late winter is coming. Ullr uses this alarm to warm up properly after the long break and to test his muscles. Before, hopefully, really getting stuck in next week. More on this in the medium term. After a more or less empty February, it's finally time to get going again!

Is the snow melting everywhere in the foehn and further up there are deep layers of weak snow? No, not everywhere. A small, albeit not very Gallic region is bucking the trend this winter!

Unfortunately, the finale is rather counterintuitive for a classic Ullrflix series, namely much too warm and not very exciting: More snow is coming from the west, but it's getting EVEN warmer than before.

Now a little less warm, a little less wild and directly after the first big climax of the series. Is that why the episode is bad?

In the words of the German Chancellor: "We're breaking new ground!" And I'm not talking about the internet, but about Alarm 8, because this time Ullr isn't sending us cold and snow all the way down, but a partially warm alarm with a fluctuating snow line.

Ullr is getting into the corona streaming business in a big way and, if the crystal ball is anything to go by, wants to delight us with a whole season of more or less exciting weather conditions. As a pilot episode, he gives us something tried and tested to keep the freeriders happy and sends a short, normal südstau alarm.

Everyone rubs their eyes in amazement - what is this? Bright colors on the north side of the Alps? Is it a UFO, is it a Marvel superhero? No, it's a northern traffic jam!

Ullr likes it comfortable and leaves the powder machine in the same setting as last time, we already know it. One man's joy, the Northern Alps' sorrow: there's another südstau.
