PowderAlert 8 2019/20 | The usual Suspects - Südstau ahead.
12/16/2019 • Lars OelmannThe traffic jam has cleared and the west highway has been closed by Ullr. After all, our Scandinavian god is still not idle and is once again turning his attention to the south of the Alps. -

PowderAlert 7 2019/20 | Westautobahn traffic jam on the A2
12/12/2019 • Lars Oelmann
Ullr is sending us a lot of snow in the Western Alps, but also heavy storms and rising snowfall limits, so there is not only powder, but also a high avalanche risk. -

PowderAlert 6 2019/20 | Westautobahn A1
12/08/2019 • Lars Oelmann
The days of southern congestion are over and now that the west also has a base, the upcoming snowfall in the west can be put to good use. This dump is in all likelihood just the prelude to several dumps this week with the finale at the weekend. -

PowderAlert 5 2019/20 | The wild wild South
11/21/2019 • Lars OelmannIt just doesn't stop. Alarm 5 also brings snow to the south again. Ullr says: To him who has, to him shall be given. And more is more! -

PowderAlert 4 2019/20 | The good, the bad, and the fluffy
11/18/2019 • Lars OelmannThe Good: The fourth alarm of the season and the fourth südstau. In a mirror image of last season, Ullr presses the weather lock button and one südstau after another rushes into the Alps. -

PowderAlert 3 2019/20 | The return of the südstau knights
11/16/2019 • Lars OelmannThe time has come to really step on the gas. The Oracle is live in alarm number 2 and it's really nice to be able to ride bottomless with face shots on day one of the season. The stone skis stay mothballed and the fat slats are happy - nice! -

PowderAlert 2 2019/20 | Now also with carpet pad skiing.
11/14/2019 • Lars OelmannAll your base are belong to us! The internet meme always makes sense in a skiing context and Ullr sends us dump number 2 to the south. Now you can finally swap your stone skis for the good slats and go skiing. By that, however, I still mean relaxed early-season turns and not shooting with the handbrake off. -

PowderAlert 1 2019/20 | First attempts at sliding in the south at last
11/11/2019 • Lars OelmannNew winter, new happiness. All aboard the Pow Train! Uh, or something like that. Nice to be back. Now that there's a minimal base from 2000-2200m, which even goes further down in places, you might even be able to ride the upcoming minidump carefully. Ullr is slowly warming up and will be sending some supplies until Wednesday evening to even out the settlement. In the east, however, there could already be quite a lot after this alarm. -

Movie review | TGR Winterland
10/25/2019 • Lars Oelmann
The trailer didn't really convince me, but the movie makes it clear right from the start that Winterland will once again be one of the better TGR flicks. Despite the Warren Milleresque title. -

PowderAlert 16 2018/19 | The last Unicorn!
05/03/2019 • Lars OelmannThe last of its kind. Confucius says: "Powder in May, passes quickly." For all those who want to read the last official PowderGuide Alarm with pathos, pining and kitsch and think back to a pretty good season (or want to take themselves back to the Christmas TV program of the late 80s), here is the soundtrack to the Alarm. PowderGuide goes multimedia! -

PowderAlert 15 2018/19 | One more to go!
04/02/2019 • Lars OelmannThere is still hope! There is snow up to 1000m on the north side and April is not yet as bad as 2018, so a dump comes just in time. The countercurrent system is intense and also quite cool for April, but the core is limited to the south except for central Switzerland. Elsewhere, it's only enough for a minor alarm. Unfortunately, there is very little carpet pad to the south - Ticino is at forest fire level 4 and the rest of the Southern Alps also looks rather barren. -

PowderAlert 14 2018/19 | Late winter powder the second!
03/13/2019 • Lars OelmannUllr heralds the second round of the late winter retreat battles and this time sends us useful amounts of precipitation. Unfortunately, it no longer has the power to keep it cold throughout and only higher up does the powder survive the warming.
