The VdW are all about the tour stop planned for today in Kicking Horse, Canada. The stop was originally planned as a prelude, but was postponed due to difficult conditions. Now 40 cm of fresh snow have been reported in the Ozone face and everything is now set for a great show. We have put together some background reports as a pre-program, enjoy!

Both winter in the Northern Alps and the FWT have started all over again. Although there are no moving images of the PowderAlert yet, there are all the more of the FWT, as the second stop is already history. It was a party! The FWT took place in the Spanish Pyrenees for the second time in a row and it already seems to feel very much at home here. Under blue skies and in partly difficult, partly fantastic snow conditions, it was especially the performances of the local heroes that had hundreds of spectators cheering. It's clear: control wins points but Air&Style wins events, and young rookies win against old hands. A great start to the season!

The early winter flood of ski videos is slowly ebbing away and we are once again taking a look at the youtube channels of the Alpine clubs. There is no skiing brilliance to be found, but all kinds of interesting facts about the mountains. The hierarchy and reach of the Alpine clubs remains relatively unchanged and we honor all their efforts for sustainability and best practices.

The weather north of the Alps and within the Alps continues to be largely trouble-free, with wintry temperatures and the prospect of fresh snow next week. In the Mediterranean region, on the other hand, there is a lot going on at the moment, which is why we are dedicating today's WeatherBlog to the windy days on the eastern Adriatic coast.

The 3238 metre high Titlis is one of the mightiest mountains in Central Switzerland and gives its name to the Engelberg ski area. The mountain railways open up an extensive and challenging freeride terrain and the location on the northern slope of the Alps guarantees a large amount of precipitation during snow storms. Here we present the area and its most important freeride variations, the Snow & Safety Days and the special microclimate, and finally we are giving away 2 x 2-day lift passes!

As a skier, I realize that snowboarders always have a special approach. Their flow and style are different, they glide or float along and it looks as if they can sometimes let themselves go completely - just let go. I watch this with admiration and since the advent of splitboards, you don't have to feel so sorry for them in their other movements. So today we are concentrating on snowboard films.

Julbo, manufacturer of goggles, glasses and helmets, invited us to legendary Zermatt to present the new "Cyclon - Pair of Kings" goggle with a photochromic lens that covers categories 0 to 4. Sam Anthamatten "King of Freeride" and Antti Ollila "King of Freestyle" co-developed them and I was allowed to test them for you. In the following, I talk in detail about my three-day trip, the goggles, their manufacturer and the two athletes behind them.
