As every year, PowderGuide is once again reporting on the new products from our partners at ISPO 2014. Some of the products have already been presented in the other articles, but in three parts we will once again go into detail about the new products from our partners. The first part is about new products from Mammut, Arc'teryx, G3, Evoc, Bergans and Diamir. Whether it's detailed ski mountaineering pants, light and heavy down clothing, various PinTech bindings or backpacks and ski clothing for ski touring, all the new products are well thought out and developed to a high standard. The avalanche airbag market is booming like no other sector in winter sports. Almost every renowned manufacturer of winter sports equipment now offers an avalanche backpack. The established systems from last winter from Mammut/Snowpulse, ABS and BCA will be joined by two new systems from Black Diamond and Scott from fall 2014. Both seek to offer innovative solutions to the well-known problem of transporting cartridges during air travel. Black Diamond's system in particular is arousing great interest with its innovative turbine technology. Scott is setting the bar pretty high, especially in terms of weight and price.

The trend in freeriding is towards dungarees. No more annoying getting snow out of your trousers and your kidneys are always nice and warm. And I have to admit that I'm right in line with the trend. My bib favorite: the Flylow Baker!

It was presented in Europe for the first time at Ispo 2013 - back then as the Diamir Zenith 12. The new and first pin binding from Diamir will be called Vipec 12 and will continue to set the pin binding market in motion.

For the 2013/2014 winter season, the makers of EVOC have decided to significantly expand their range of winter backpacks. For the first time, EVOC's winter sports line will now also include backpacks without back protectors - the Performance Backpacks. We briefly introduce you to the main new products from the EVOC snow department and have tested their first (real) touring backpack, the EVOC Patrol (40+5 liters) for you.

We move on to the Strandafjellet ski resort, which is now one of the most popular freeride resorts in Scandinavia. The area around Strandafjellet has a number of worthwhile ski touring peaks - we opted for the favorite peak of the Queen of Kongeriket Norge (Kingdom of Norway).

Norway has long ceased to be an insider tip - at least for spring ski tours. Central Europeans have been traveling to the north for years. These trips are usually so late in the winter that the first flowers are already blooming in the Alps. If you venture north a little earlier, you can still fully enjoy the freeride potential of the mountains there.

Black Diamond is known for its wide range of climbing skins. A number of innovations were introduced in the Ascension Skin series for winter 2012/2013. The main focus was on the adhesive properties and weight. We tested the GlideLite Mohair Mix STS climbing skin throughout the season in a wide range of conditions.

The second generation of Salomon Rocker skis is now familiar to almost every freerider - wide, soft, fun! In order to be prepared not only for the really fat days, Salomon has produced a complete series of Rocker2 freeride skis for winter 2012/2013 (90, 92, 108, 115, 122 mm under the binding). We have extensively tested the Salomon Rocker2 115.

Last week, after a freeride descent in the Disentis freeride area, we climbed over the Oberalpstock to the Cavardiras hut. This time we have the highlight of the tour: the Steintalrinne from the Fruttstock down into the Maderanertal.
