Arc'teryx Academy: Freeride Skiing Techniques for Women

In this freeride clinic for women, you'll experience a classic off-piste day around St. Anton am Arlberg, using only lifts and ski slopes to access lines. The focus: Off-piste runs. Guided by professional mountain guides, you will learn technical skiing tips and hone your knowledge of risk management while freeriding.

Learning objectives

Building on existing skills and introducing new techniques for navigating different terrain. The focus is on having fun and improving technical skills.

Equipment

  • Ski pass, skis, poles, bindings

  • Ski boots

  • Suitable clothing in which you can spend a day on the mountain (expect sub-zero temperatures): Jacket, trousers, midlayer & functional underwear

  • Helmet

  • Backpack* including: avalanche probe
    Avalanche transceiver (LVS)
    Avalanche shovel (metal)

    *Avalanche airbag backpacks are recommended but not essential

Skill level

This course is aimed at participants with some freeride experience who feel comfortable in freeride terrain and want to develop their skills. The prerequisite is safe off-piste skiing or snowboarding in different snow conditions.

Costs

  • €190**

**The ski pass is not included in the course price and must be purchased directly from the ski resort. We recommend doing this in advance to avoid queues.
