Arc'teryx Academy: Ski Touring Efficiency with Stian Hagen

Join Arc'teryx athlete Stian Hagen and learn how to be quicker on those touring transfers from uphill to downhill mode

Along the way, Stian will teach you best-packing principles, helping you know what you really need to bring and what you can leave at home. Great for feeling light, staying organized and prepared for emergencies. Then learn how to layer up to level up. Stian will show you how to stay comfortable from the climb to the rest to the downhill. No more too hot, too cold. There'll also be chance to perfect those kick turns with advice from Stian on your technique while skiing.

Educational goals

  • Building on existing skills and introducing new techniques for navigating different terrain. The focus is on having fun and improving technical skills.

  • Sufficient warm clothing for a day on the mountain, expect temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius

    *Avalanche airbag backpacks are recommended, but not mandatory

Skill level

  • This clinic is for participants with some touring experience who are comfortable on freeride terrain and looking to enhance their skills. Participants should be prepared to climb on skin trails for approximately two hours (600 metres vertical) using touring skis, and be capable of skiing confidently off-piste in varying snow conditions.

Costs

  • €210**

**The ski pass is not included in the course price and must be purchased directly from the ski resort. We recommend doing this in advance to avoid queues.
