Based on customer feedback, it has been determined that the locking mechanism of two shovel models may be affected by a material defect. Affected shovels cannot be fitted together properly. The pin connection that connects the shovel shaft to the shovel blade is not positioned correctly in this case, which can cause the shovel blade to detach from the shaft.
Anyone who has a shovel from the affected production series (see image below) should check the function as explained here. If a malfunction is detected, the shovel should be sent to Mammut for modification. The problem can apparently be solved by enlarging the pin hole.
