The traditional coat brand Colltex from Switzerland has launched the ct40, a coat with a new type of adhesive. This promises easy handling and good adhesive properties at all temperatures. The ct40 is available in 100, 110, 120 and 130 mm widths and up to 195 cm in length.

The fastening system with bracket at the front and the camlock end hook works simply and reliably. The bracket on the tip is designed to fit both wide and narrow shovels with different shapes. The Camlock end hook works very well, even on skis with a twintip, although I personally prefer an end hook with rubber tension. The innovative ct40 adhesive is a definite plus when it comes to handling. As it hardly sticks without pressure, the skin is particularly easy to stick on. However, the adhesive also requires careful handling, so you should always use the separating nets supplied and never stick the skins together! Everything you need is included in the scope of delivery: Skins, cutting knife, separating nets, storage bag, cutting template for the shovel area and detailed instructions for use.

Tackiness: ***** The climbing properties of the ct40 Mohair are convincing across the board. The gliding properties can only be praised, and the climbing properties are also very good. So far, there has been no evidence of snow rolling onto the skin or water absorption, although the skin is still relatively new.
The adhesive holds very reliably at all temperatures, even if you hardly believe it at first when putting on the skin, as the adhesive only develops its full holding power under pressure. Even multiple skinning works perfectly, the adhesive holds just as well the second time as the first and has proven its worth so far. Test conditions: Several tours in a wide range of temperature and snow conditions (powder, firn, harsch, broken harsch) with a maximum of two ascents per tour.
Conclusion
