Expedition to the Queen of Trentino | The Presanella
04/22/2026 • Sebastian MüllerAt 3,558 meters, the Presanella is the highest mountain in Trentino. On this tour, we found freedom and powder snow, but I not only lost a ski strap and my golden pennant, but also my anterior cruciate ligament. In this article, I will describe our three-day tour, which was characterized by special conditions and impressive exposure. Tp wrap it up, I will begin a critical discussion about the tour and the accident. -

Snow of Tomorrow | Climbing Skin Care - Spring is here
04/21/2026 • Teja StüweAs the days get longer and the tours become more enjoyable, the most demanding time of the year begins for ski skins - spring is demanding for both equipement and care. Where fluorine-based impregnations were used in the past, there is now a clear shift towards more environmentally friendly alternatives. Expedition Svalbard | Challenges of a border crossing - Part IV
04/20/2026 • Moritz KrauseFor 40 days in April and May 2023, I lived on the glaciers of Spitsbergen. My team and I covered 700 kilometers - once on skis from south to north across the Arctic island. 04/08/2026 • Lea HartlThe Easter weather had it all - the onset of winter in Holy Week was promptly followed by the first day of summer (>25°C) on Easter Sunday. The spring weather is here to stay for the time being, albeit with slightly more "normal" temperatures. From the weekend onwards, both the uncertainties and the chances of precipitation will increase again. -

TouringTip | Sellabödeli (2828 m)
04/06/2026 • Tobias LeistenschneiderThe season is actually coming to an end, but the bikes are saddled up for the Sellabödeli (2828 m). From Hospental, we head over the pass road and through the Guspistal valley to one of the most beautiful splitboard adventures of the spring. A plea for long days, getting up early and the "downhill rush" on 300 meters of firn happiness. -

Gear of the Week | Earflap-Cap
04/05/2026 • Theresa SchrannerApril does what it wants - and we ski tourers are at a loss in front of the closet. Bright sunshine at the parking lot, an icy north föhn on the ridge and the obligatory snowstorm just in time for the summit champagne. If you don't fancy the constant switching between beanie and baseball cap, there is a solution that is as simple as it is ingenious: the cap with integrated ear protection. -
