The idea behind it
What makes "Back on Track" so special is its unique concept: the event takes place in a secluded location in the high Alps - without lifts, cable cars or artificial aids. The ascent takes place exclusively under your own steam in "hike to ride" mode. This return to the essentials symbolizes the spirit of freeriding: nature, freedom and pure flow on the mountain.
Another highlight of the contest is the rider's judging:
Judging is carried out by the participants themselves. Each rider evaluates the runs of the others - which guarantees a unique atmosphere as well as an exceptionally high level of fairness and mutual respect.
Location
At an altitude of 2,538 meters, on the south-east ridge shoulder of the Kleinlitzner, the Saarbrücker Hütte sits enthroned in an impressive panoramic position as the highest refuge in the Silvretta.
Directly behind it rises the glaciated mountain world of the Litzner-Seehorn group. Crossing it is considered one of the most beautiful two-peak tours in the region. The partially glaciated touring area around the hut offers a variety of options - for beginners as well as experienced alpinists, for hikers, mountaineers and ski tourers as well as for day guests and holidaymakers who want to spend more time in the mountains.
