After a fantastic anniversary year in 2025, the legendary "Back on Track - Feel Free Ride Contest" is entering the next round. From 27th to 29th of March 2026, the Silvretta will once again be transformed into the epicentre for freeride enthusiasts from home and abroad. Powder, passion and team spirit come together for three days - far away from everyday life, right in the heart of the Alps.

PowderGuide is back again for the second stop. It hasn't snowed much or at all since Hochfügen, but the anticipation is still great! The weather oracle predicted some fresh snow followed by many hours of sunshine at the weekend. Perfect conditions!

The legendary PowderGuide snow depth prediction game will be held four times this winter at the Freeride Testival stops - and each time you can win great prizes. PowderGuide will be present at all stops to hand out the prizes directly. At the second stop in Silvretta Montafon from February 7th to 8th, 2026, you can take home unique prizes from Atomic, Tecnica, Kästle and Phantom Glide worth over 2,000 euros and invaluable sentimental value!

The Freeride Testival Tour 2026 is in the starting blocks and promises an exciting combination of equipment tests for the next season (free of charge), professional coaching and a real community vibe. Whether you're a beginner looking to gain your first off-piste experience or a pro looking for the perfect setup - the tour stops in Hochfügen, Silvretta Montafon, Warth-Schröcken and on the Stubai Glacier offer the right skis, course and terrain for every level. The Powderfest, the freeride festival in the Silvretta Montafon, took place for the 4th time this year from 2-4 February 2024. Once again this year, a varied freeride programme awaited all participants with a focus on RIDE-LEARN-CONNECT.

The Freeride World Tour has had difficulties this season due to the weather. It started with a changed start date in Kicking-Horse, rain and warm weather delayed the start at Wildseeloder and now the Xtreme Verbier had to be canceled for the second time in its 25-year history. In this winter of all winters with little precipitation, heavy snowfall coupled with strong winds meant that the safety of the athletes on the Bec des Rosses could not be guaranteed.

At the beginning of February, from 03.02.2023 to 05.02.2023, Silvretta Montafon will be hosting the freeride event with the illustrious name "Powderfest" for the third time. The freeride station offers a comprehensive and varied program from Friday to Sunday: As part of various workshops, ski tests and guided tours, everyone goes in search of the best lines and the most beautiful powder in the Silvretta Montafon!

The next generation presents the best entertainment, fresh enthusiasm, class and style at the Freeride Qualifier events. The events in Montafon and Nendaz make the big tour look like a kindergarten. The dilemma of subjectivity will always remain, but so will the fun and excitement of playing and dueling together.

There are still places available at seven different camps for splitboarders, including the "mr.splitboards Pyrenees adventure" in March and the big "Climb the Mountain" test festival at the end of January, where you can rent directly from the manufacturers. Participants include Arbor, Amplid, Jones, Furberg, Rossignol, mr.splitboards, Never Summer, Rome, Gara and Weston.

The organizers of the Back on Track Freeride Event have announced that they are hopeful that they will be able to hold the event at the end of March. Anyone who is interested can make a note of the date. The start of registration will be communicated - experience shows that you have to be quick.

The currently unclear situation and the question of how the pandemic will develop in the coming weeks and months also poses major challenges for the organization of freeride contests. Will there be a shortened tour for the elite? Will qualifier events be held and how will they be scored? Answers to these and other questions still need to be found.
