To dampen your hopes right away: it's just enough for an alarm. The fresh snow will at least make Friday and Saturday a little nicer and once again offer more than the firn and ice we've had to make do with over the last 3 weeks. However, it won't get really deep until the upcoming alert 13.
Alert period and areas
The alert comes from the west and therefore only extends from the Arlberg to France, where the core is located. The period lasts until Saturday in the early morning, by which time the precipitation will have already subsided.
Wind
Storm, because a powerful low-pressure system has parked itself on the Atlantic, on whose southern flank the weather change will be initiated. Full amounts up to the French main ridge and into Valais/Northern Grisons.
