Ski Workshop | Binding adjustment - Alpine bindings
01/30/2025 • Fritz CroneMany skiers still leave the fitting and adjustment of bindings to specialist shops, although at least the adjustment of bindings is not particularly complicated. But are you actually allowed to adjust bindings yourself? Legally, this is a grey area. In theory, insurance companies can demand proof of binding adjustment by a specialist in the case of an insurance claim or accident, but in practice this happens extremely rarely. Adjusting your own bindings helps you to better understand your own equipment and to be able to help yourself when a problem arises. It is therefore worth trying. And in case of doubt? You can always ask a specialist shop for help. -

Test & Overview | Ski touring bindings for children
10/18/2021 • Baschi BenderIt was the end of August 2020, I had just returned from my summer vacation, the surfboard had been put away and the ski season was just around the corner. Like any normal skier, I asked myself typical questions for the time: When is the first snow coming? How many PowderAlerts await us? Is my setup right for the new season? -

Marker KingPin recall for the 2017/18 season
07/26/2018 • PowderGuide
Possible breakage of the steel pins on the front jaws can lead to reduced release force and thus increase the risk of falling. Models 10 and 13 from the 2017/18 season (gold or reddish color) are affected. The toe pieces of the corresponding bindings will be replaced free of charge. ISPO Report 2018 | Ski touring boots & bindings
01/30/2018 • PowderGuide
As in previous years, there are many technical innovations in ski touring boots. More and more manufacturers are coming onto the market with ever lighter models that are still very suitable for downhill skiing. One of the most interesting new models, the Hoji Pro Tour from Dynafit, won an ISPO Award but could only be admired in reality to a limited extent due to the lack of a Dynafit stand. -

Gear reviews | Line Pandora 95
03/27/2017 • Bettina Larl
"All Terain. All the Time" is the slogan of the Line Pandora 95, a ski designed for women with a center width of 95 mm and a freeride shape that is supposed to work anywhere and everywhere. We have put this claim by the ski makers from the USA to the test and naturally don't want to withhold the results. -

Gear reviews | Stereo Skis Lynx MK II
11/28/2016 • Alex SchoberWhen it comes to skiing, the Norwegian company "Stereoskis" not only focuses on winter, but also produces high-quality (alpine) skis and water skis. This is how the basic idea of Stereoskis "Never stop skiing" came about. Since we at PowderGuide are known to have less to do with skiing on the water, but prefer to ski in the snow, we were given the opportunity to test an (alpine) ski from Stereoskis.
