Freeride tour of the week | Alagna - Valle Perduta
01/05/2014 • Sebastian BrandstetterThe "lost valley" (Listal) is one of the highlights of the Alagna ski area. The lonely descent first leads through a fantastic gully and then over a wide glacier, directly below the imposing Liskamm (4527 m) back into the valley to Staffal - and covers a total of 1700 vertical meters. -

PowderAlert 5/2014 | Second helpings in the south
01/02/2014 • Lars OelmannThe new PowderAlert is due and there's powder again. This time again in the south and west. However, the amounts will be significantly lower than the Christmas alert and won't break any records. But it should be enough for the odd face shot. Once again, Ullr has no sympathy for the northern side of the Alps and first sends the Föhn ahead of it, only to add cosmetic snowfall again. In the far north and northeast, the cosmetic snowfall may be completely absent (east of Innbruck too). The dump starts on January 4th, ends on the 5th and the fresh snow is already fried by the sun on the 6th almost everywhere except for high northern slopes in the south. -

Freeride tour of the week | Stockhorn
12/03/2012 • German WehingerThe Stockhorn is quite easy to reach via a ridge. After a short ascent, the summit is quickly reached. Once at the top, the view of the glaciated landscape will amaze you. The entire Monte Rosa massif is within easy reach, but the view of the Matterhorn and Gorner glacier is also impressive. Depending on the conditions, you can ski down moderately steep or steeper terrain. Caution! The crevasses on the Trifji Glacier are a serious danger on this variant. -

Monte Rosa – Freeride Paradise
03/11/2011 • German Wehinger"Monte Rosa" is the name of the largest mountain massif in the Alps. And Monte Rosa also gave its name to the so-called "Freeride Paradise – Monterosa Ski". In order to taste the fruits of paradise, we stayed at the highest possible spot in the Refugio Guglielmina at 2,880 m above sea level. But instead of being banished, we were rewarded with several big dump powder days. -

Architectural eco-flagship instead of an old musty building
01/05/2009 • Stefan RuzasIt is already being praised as a "revolution", "energy miracle" and "milestone". The New Monte Rosa Hut in the Upper Valais region of Switzerland. It lies there like a polished stone, the dazzling future. Exactly 2883 meters above sea level, with a view of the Matterhorn. Surrounded by the Gorner, Grenz and Monte Rosa glaciers, somewhere far below is Zermatt in the Upper Valais.
